This Week In Ch33v0z, The Good Night Sweet Prince Edition

The flood gates of cheeviness have reopened. As promised, of course... take that Obama! Anyway, I'm finally finished with Prince of Persia and thank god... that game tested my last nerve. So, without further ado, this week in ch33vz.

Death of a Warrior King-Congratulations, you have killed the Warrior-20G

Throw Master-Congratulations, you have mastered throwing enemies-10G

It's finally over. Not that the game is incredibly long, but the fact that it's not awesome makes it seem much longer. So I manged to slowly trudge my way through the game, and now I'm free of it. I banish thee to Gamefly land!

There are only a few cheevos you can miss in this game. The only two on this list are Precious Time and Speed Demon .

Speed Demon
requires that you finish the game within 12 hours, which should be easy for most because you want to finish this game as quickly as possible... because it's crap.

Precious Time
can be attained near the end of the game. *spoiler warning* When Elika dies at the end of the game, after a short cut scene you will be holding her in your arms. Just stay still for 60 seconds, get up and do something. The ch33v0 will unlock on it's own.

So that's about it for this game. I managed to finish it, and I'm glad I don't have to look at it again. I will say that there was potential for a good game there, but overall it turned out to rate as crap in my opinion. The one saving grace in this entire game? The cheevo payoff at the end. It's pretty substantial as you can see, so if there is a small desire to see this game to the end.

Oh, speaking of the end of this game... COMPLETE SHIT. The end of the game made everything you do in the game, pointless. IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING! Crap ending.

That's it for this week. I've had F.E.A.R. Files for two weeks and have yet to crack the seal on the envelope! Hopefully I will delve into that game this week. I'm currently awaiting my next Gamefly shipment, and hopefully crossing my fingers for a chance to play Afro Samurai. Also, next week is the Halo Wars release week, so expect to see something on that in the near future! Cheev it up, my fellow cheev hounds!

This Week In Ch33v0z, The Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway Edition

Another week has passed, with that new week brings new cheevoz. For most of the week I played Call of Duty: World at War Multiplayer... which netted me ZERO ch33v0z. I almost considered making this post about how I didn't get one damn cheevo. However, I decided to put a little time in Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway (since it's been sitting on my shelf for over a week). This game... well... let's just say the cheevos flow pretty well. That's all I have for positive comments on the game. Check out the cheevz below!

Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway

Touchdown-Completed Chapter Two : "Operation Market"-15G

Assault!-Ordered your squad to Assault the enemy 5 times-10G

The Four F's-Used your squad to Suppress and Flank the enemy 10 times-10G

Squad Kills-Helped your squad earn 20 kills-10G

Dig In!-Killed 25 enemies while using cover-45G

Action Camera Blast-Triggered an Action Camera moment with explosives-10G

Enemy Arms-Captured and fired a German MG42-10G

First Recon-Found a Recon Point-10G

Kilroy was here!-Found a Kilroy-10G

Action Camera Sniper-Triggered an Action Camera moment with fire arms-10G

Basic Training-Ordered your squad to fall-in, move and attack-10G

A Lethal Portent-Completed Chapter One : "Lost"-10G

Suppressive Fire-Suppressed an enemy-10G

Ok. Another WWII shooter. The only difference is that you have to babysit a number of stupid squads. The entire game is based around suppressing the enemy with one squad, while flanking them with the other. The graphics look good sometimes, and awful at other times. I will say that the game hands out the cheevos pretty well, so if you are looking for a quick cheevo boost this game will fit the bill. I managed to rack up these 13 cheevz in about 30 minutes of play time. All of the cheevoz unlock as you play, nothing special is required for these here. The action camera shots require specific kills to be preformed... and they look pretty sweet too.

So that's it for this week. Hopefully I can drag out a few more from Far Cry 2 and see if I can get that sent back to Hell where it belongs. I will also be making a list of old games that I'm going back to farm. See which ones I'm gunning for in a later post! Keep cheevin' strong!

This Week In Ch33v0z, The Call Of Duty: Far Cry 2 Edition

This has been a slow week in the world of ch33v0z. I've been working at Far Cry 2, but the more I play the more I realize it's total crap. I also had a chance to hit up some co-op in Call of Duty: World at War(finally)! Read on for the scoop on this weeks cheevo haul.

Call of Duty: World At War

Get Your Left Foot Wet-Got online, met some people, and kicked butt in a Campaign Co-Op game session-30G

Blue Ribbon-Finished in 1st place in a Competitive Co-Op match-25G

Snake in the Grass-Took out a Japanese soldier camouflaged and hiding in the grass-15G

Get Your Right Foot Wet-Got online, met some people, and kicked butt in a Competitive Co-Op game session-30G

Weapon of Mass Destruction-You called in a naval bombardment that took out at least 4 Japanese soldiers-15G

This game is a lot of fun. I finally got involved in the online multiplayer, both versus and co-op. Let me tell you, it's a bunch of fun. There is nothing like playing a co-op game with four of your friends! I will note that not all chapters of the campaign are available in co-op, which is a fucking crock. You also can't unlock the cheevos for beating each level while playing in co-op. Of course, there are a couple of cheevz that are exclusive to co-op... so it's worth playing a couple of rounds. I'd like to thank Mike53414, sparkla123, NatUralB187, and GLOBEL007 for helping get a few co-op cheevz.

Weapon of Mass Destruction can be obtained in the very first level of the campaign. Use the naval bombardment to take out the first machine gun nest on the beach. That should get you the cheevo, and if you don't get it there you'll have other opportunities to snag this in the same level.

Far Cry 2

Down but not out-Escaped to Bowa-Seko - the Southern Territory-10G

Stickin' it to the man-Killed a Faction Captain in Leboa-Sako - the Northern Territory-10G

This game is very cheap with handing out the sweet cheevoz. Not only that, but the voice acting is total crap and the game is not much fun. Some aspects are great, but overall it's pretty crappy. I keep contemplating sending this game back, but I'm hoping to squeeze a few more ch33v0z out of this before I toss it aside. I'm going to give it another week.

So that's it. Short and sweet this week. I've recently received Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, so I'll be getting my cheevz in on that. I've also created a list of older games that I'd like to go back and farm for some sweet cheevz, so be on the lookout for that special post. Until next week, cheev on brothers.

This Week In Ch33v0z, The Alone In The Battlefield Edition

It's been a slow week in the world ch33v0z, even with a NEW GAME from Gamefly! It's mostly my fault, and in some ways it's your fault... actually, it's mostly your fault. I received a couple of new games from Gamefly and both are just... awful. They are utterly boring and ridiculous! Of course I'm referring to Alone In The Dark and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. EM:QW has already been banished from my land of gaming, and AITD is well on it's way. I did however manage to rack up few paltry ch33v0z, here is a very quick review.

Alone In The Dark

Wired-Hotwire a car-10G

Car Thievery-Unlock a car door after breaking the window-10G

BLACKOUT-Finish the episode without skipping any sequence-30G

This game is complete crap. I'm sorry if you love it, or like it or whatever, but I think it just sucks. The controls are bad, the camera is bad, the targeting system is bad, and the inventory system is awful. So, bad, bad, bad, and awful! Sounds like a great game, right? I think there are a lot of good ideas, but they are put together in a shitty way. Meh, whatever...ch33v0z!

BLACKOUT isn't too hard to get, especially because the story isn't that bad. Just make sure you listen to everything they have to say, and you'll get this one.

Car Thievery and Wired are gained within 10 seconds of each other, just before your first driving scene. Besides the arduous task of trying to guide your clumsy character over to the car, and smash the window with some object or trying to get the car to start using the lame "hot-wire" mechanic, these two cheevos are easy to get. Of course the game developers half-assed the cheevo pictures, which annoys the fuck out of me.

Anyway, don't expect to see much more of this game in the future.

Battlefield: Bad Company

Hold on!-Completed 'Air Force One' on normal-15G

Ooh Rah-Achieved half of all awards-20G

The love affair continues! I'm still plugging away at the single player campaign to scoop up those normal difficulty cheevos, and hitting the multiplayer hard pretty much every day.

Ooh Rah is a great cheevo to finally get, because many of the awards can be difficult to get. This being one of my favorite games adds extra weight to a difficult ch33v0.
Your tip for getting this one? I dunno... be a badass? That's what I did.

So that's it for the week, but I have another game on the way (hopefully not total shit) and we are on the precipice of a huge game flood that is called "the holiday season". Get your life boats ready, because we are going to be up to our necks in the sweet cheevoz.
