This Week In Ch33v0z, The Gears Of War 2 Cheev Grind

Ok, this is a pathetic post, but it's a post nonetheless... so enjoy it. I did a small amount of gaming, and I'm currently grinding through an older game working on an older game, trying to unlock some of the more difficult cheevos. Since we are goin to be a bit lit in the cheevo department, I suggest you savor every ONE. So get ready to savor, and savor hard... because there is just one.

Gears Of War 2

Around the World, Again-Won a match on every map shipped with the game-30G

So I started playing Gears of War 2 again. Yeah it's been a while since I played this game, but there are plenty of unharvested cheevos just waiting to be plucked! Unfortunately, I have only been able to unlock one cheevo so far, but it's worth 30 points and it's pretty easy to get.

Around the World, Again is obtained by winning a game on each of the shipped maps. There are 10 total, and you can either play against online players or bots. Just set your matches to 1 round each, and put the AI difficulty on easy. 10 short rounds later and you will be looking at 30 points in the bucket.

So that's it! Really short, kind of sweet. I'm currently working on finishing off the GOW2 campaign on insane mode, and getting those sweet ass cheevos. Keep up the good fight, viva la Cheevolucion!

Ultra Ch33v0 Grab! Dash Of Destruction!

Dash Of Destruction is the ultimate cheev grab. It's free, all the cheevos can be unlocked in about 20 minutes, and it's kind of fun! You can't beat that, you just can't!

It's my duty, to all of you cheev-hounds, to pass the word on about this awesome little cheevo bump. I should also mention that this game is free thanks to the fine folks at Doritos, where all evil tortilla chips go after they die.

Dash Of Destruction

Extinction Event-Won a local multiplayer game-10G

Tricked Out-Tricked out your ride with fuzzy dice!-10G

Speed of Light-Obtained Mike's Nitrous Kit for Speed Junkies-20G

Employee of the Month-Made 40 deliveries-15G

Supercharged-Obtained Mike's Street-Pro Supercharger-25G

Speed of Sound-Obtained Mike's Nitrous Kit for Beginners-20G

A New Hope-Finally replaced those tiny, ineffectual arms-20G

Tough as Nails-Obtained Borland Bionics T-Rex All-Weather Body Armor-15G

Hungry Hungry Dino-Ate 40 trucks-15G

Adrenaline Boost-Obtained Borland Bionics Professional Grade Leg Enhancement-15G

Mike's Protégé-Beat any level in a single player campaign-25G

DestructoMatic Rex-Destroyed all buildings in a single campaign map-10G

It couldn't be much easier to get all 200 cheevo points... well, it could be easier if they didn't require you to play to get the cheevos... I digress. Just play the game, and that's it... booyah.

DestructoMatic Rex should be done in the first level. Run around the map, knock over all the buildings.

Extinction Event requires an explanation. This game does NOT have online multiplayer, therefore you must get this cheevo in LOCAL multiplayer. Use a second controller (guitar controller will work too) and sign in one of your other accounts. Set the goal number low, and you'll have this cheevo in no time.

Thanks Doritos, your tasty chips are almost as good as these sweet ch33v0z! Click HERE to add this game to your download queue!

This Week In Ch33v0z, Last Week's Edition

This is the post that should have gone up last Friday, but I didn't post it and that's just how it is. However, I haven't forgotten about all my loyal cheev-hounds... so without further ado, I give you... This..uh... last week in ch33v0z!

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames

Stand Up and Shout-You achieved maximum mood with the Allies-10G

Holy Smoke-You destroyed 50 objects with a grenade-20G

Pipeline-You captured all outposts for a single faction-20G

Hail and Kill-You destroyed 50 objects using melee-20G

The Analog Kid-You recruited Misha-20G

Heavy Metal Thunder-You successfully completed 10 action hijacks-10G

Little Savage-You destroyed 50 objects with an RPG launcher-20G

Forever Free-You achieved maximum P.L.A.V. mood-10G

Armaggedon It-You destroyed 20 buildings-20G

Partners in Crime-You experienced co-op-50G

Oil and Gasoline-You recruited Eva-20G

Gone Shootin'-You completed one of Fiona's challenges-20G

Tattooed Millionaire-You earned $1 million-25G

Balls to the Wall-You mastered the Winching Challenge-20G

Wild One-You recruited Ewan-20G

Dirty Deeds-You achieved maximum Universal Petroleum mood-10G

Mercenaries 2! I've been blowing shit up, and kicking ass all over Venezuela! This a great game, and tons of fun. Not only that, but the cheevz have been flowing freely like the black gold of Venezuela.

Most of the cheevoz that I got this week are due to repetitive actions like destroying X amount of this or killing X amount of those. A couple could use some explanations.

Dirty Deeds, Forever Free, and Stand Up And Shout are awarded for getting a maximum "friendly" rating with each of the different factions. You can achieve this by completing story missions or secondary objectives (HVTs and Priority Targets) or bribing them.

Balls To The Wall is not hard once you understand the point of the exercise. There might be some instructions on screen, but I'm a guy so I don't read that crap. The challenge requires you to raise a red tool box a specified number of meters above the ground. What they don't' tell you is that you need to stack it on one of the objects surrounding it. First grab one of the miscellaneous objects with the winch of the chopper (using left button on the d-pad) and place it in the yellow circle. Then pick up the red tool box and put it on top of said miscellaneous object. Voila.

Castle Crashers

The Traitor-Defeat any boss by playing one of his own minions-20G

LOVE this game... LOVE it.

The Traitor cheevo is attained by using one of the unlocked characters to defeat the associated characters boss. The easiest, fastest way, is to play in the arena. Win one wave in the arena, and you'll unlock a barbarian character. Use this character to defeat the barbarian boss, and booyah... cheevo unlocked.

Battlefield: Bad Company

Darwin's Parachute-There is no parachute, right?-10G

Still loving the Battlefield, still unlocking the sweet cheevos.

Darwin's Parachute is extremely easy, if you can get your hands on a chopper in multiplayer. Just snag a chopper, fly it as high as you can... and hit the B button to exit. As soon as you hit the ground, the cheevo will be yours.

That's pretty much it for last week. I've already started on this week's set of cheevos, so expect them out on time. Mercs 2, some arcade titles and maybe a new game. The surprises never end, and neither does my love for cheevoz.

This Week In Ch33v0z, The One Week Late Edition

So it's been a busy week, please forgive the late ch33v recap! It's been a good week in the cheevo department. I've got one new game, Mercenaries 2! You'll be happy to know that the cheevz are EXPLODING from that game!

Mercenaries 2: World In Flames

Eat the Heat-You performed a burnout-10G

Hello, Hooray-You acquired the PMC-50G

Ride the Dragon-You hijacked the tank in the villa-10G

Shoot to Thrill-You got 25 headshots-20G

The Rage-You completed "Rescue Carmona-20G

School's Out-You completed the tutorial-20G

This is the new game, that my lovely, beatiful and ever so wonderful girlfriend bought for me! I'm completely new to the Mercenaries world, so this was new for me. My initial take on the game is that it's like GTA, but with more explosions, co-op, and graphical glitches. It's a really fun sandbox game, with tons of missions and explosions! Co-op is the shining star of this game, and I LOVE it!

This game hands out the sweet cheevos pretty readily, expect to get hooked up early and often. So far, only one required me to do something that I wouldn't normally. Eat The Heat, just press A and RT(right trigger) at the same time until the cheevo unlocks(about 10 seconds).

Castle Crashers

Traditional-Complete the game using any character-20G

Treasure Hunter-Find and dig up ten buried items-20G

Maximum Firepower-Using a catapult, fling a knight with maximum power-10G

Deer Trainer-Navigate the Abandoned Mill without hitting any obstacles-20G

W00t! I finally beat Castle Crashers! It's a pretty tough game, but totally addictive and tons of fun. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to play a co-op game, and scoop up some of those cheevoz.

Treasure Hunter can't be obtained until the desert level, where you'll be given a shovel to dig up treasure!

Maximum Firepower can also only be achieved in one place. There is a castle about mid way through the game, in which you and your buddies will catapult yourself onto a castle a wall. Just wait for the gauge to hit the top, and press A... cheevo unlocked.

Battlefield: Bad Company

General of the Army-Reached Rank 25-35G

Get the dog!-Collected 50 unique dog tags-20G

I love this game. Plain and simple, it's so much fun with friends. These two cheevoz are a result of play a TON of this game. Teh w00t.

Too Human

Legend of the Aesir-Achieved Legend status (Level 40)-30G

I'm Rich...-Collected 1,000,000 in bounty-10G

Oh sweet loot, how I love the. This is the classic story of a level grind. Just get that level up, keep raking in the loot and you'll score these two cheevoz in no time!

Frontlines: Fuel Of War

Living Quarter - Ironman-Complete the sixth mission in a single session without dying-20G

The Mountain King - Stopwatch-Complete the fifth mission in under 30 minutes-25G

The Mountain King - Ironman-Complete the fifth mission in a single session without dying-20G

Graveyard - Ironman-Complete the fourth mission in a single session without dying-20G

Graveyard - Stopwatch-Complete the fourth mission in under 50 minutes-25G

Anvil - Ironman-Complete the third mission in a single session without dying-20G

Captains of Industry - Ironman-Complete the second mission in a single session without dying-20G

Captains of Industry - Stopwatch-Complete the second mission in under 25 minutes-25G

Darkness Falls - Stopwatch-Complete the first mission in under 15 minutes-25G

Darkness Falls - Ironman-Complete the first mission in a single session without dying-20G

Ok, so back to Frontlines. I'm getting tired of this game, and I've got SO many on the way, but I couldn't just leave it with so many unharvested cheevoz. The great thing about these, is that can be done on the same play through, just make sure to keep your diffifculty on EASY.

My last few weeks at work have been hectic, due to some unforeseen problems. The cheev recap will be back, and less abbreviated next time! Keep your eyes out for some new games from Gamefly, and get ready for the glut of "holiday season games"! Cheevoz galore!
