This Week In Ch33v0z, The December Round Up Edition

I've neglected you, yes you... my readers. I've been juicin' the cheevz and ridin' the wave of cheevo flavor, and I've not stopped... stopped to tell you all that I've accomplished. Please accept my apologies and revel in the goodness of the cheevz! This post will be all inclusive, and will bring you up to speed on all that is the cheevy goodness of these past weeks of gaming.

Wreckage-Complete Chapter 9 on any difficulty setting-20G

Pack Rat-Store 25 Items in the Safe-10G

Big Spender-Spend 300,000 credits at the store-10G

Strange Transmissions-Complete Chapter 8 on any difficulty setting-20G

Get off my ship!-Kill the Slug Boss-15G

Finally, the journey is over. Yes, I finished this game a while ago, but with the holidays and personal life getting in the way, I've only now been able to post my cheev haul. It's a good game, I'll give it that. It's scary in all the right ways, but the back and forth messenger missions become irritating VERY quickly.

Pack Rat is easy enough, depending on the difficulty you are playing. Sooner or later, you'll gather up so much crap that you can't carry it all. Just transfer all your stuff into storage(at least 25 pieces), and the cheevo will unlock.

There's Always PENG! is easy, just look over the railing where you initially land. You'll see a small statue over the railing. Use your kinesis to bring it up to you, boom cheevo unlocked. Here is a shitty video, that might help.

The rest are either self explanatory or come with beating the game. You can also get some of the other cheevos by hitting the predetermined number with each weapon. I opted not to go back because I'm so flooded with games that those cheevos were not worth it to me.

Quantum of Solace

Diamonds Are Forever-Hack all locks-20G

The Spy Who Loved Me-Complete Barge and Venice-15G

Live and Let Die-Takedown 50 enemies-20G

Moonraker-Collect 30 cell phones-20G

I've got a little itch-In Barge, save Vesper in under two minutes-15G

Casino Royale-Complete Montenegro Train, Casino Royale, and Casino Poison-15G

On Her Majesty's Secret Service-Complete Science Center Exterior, Interior, and Airport-15G

The Living Daylights-Complete Shanty Town and Construction Site-15G

From Russia With Love-Complete Siena, Opera House, and Sink Hole-15G

The Man with the Golden Gun-Defeat 50 enemies with one shot each-20G

Opera isn't for everyone-In Opera House, move through backstage without alerting the guards-15G

A View to a Kill-Complete White's Estate-15G

Time to face gravity-In White’s Estate, open the cellar door with one shot-15G

Licence to Kill-Defeat an enemy with one shot-10G

Gamefly has provided yet another new game for me to try. Let me say, I'm glad I rented this game. No, I have not finished it yet, but it's not that fun. The names of the cheevos are cool because they harken back to old Bond movies, but otherwise they don't mean anything... which annoys me. Anyway, the story is lacking and it's not much fun. Also, quick time events can lick my balls. There, I said it. On to the cheevos.

License To Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun... headshots, headshots, headshots.

Time To Face Gravity is attained in the first level. You'll reach a mansion, and the left side of the house in a balcony is a man with a gun. Hit him with a headshot, and he'll fall through the cellar door below him.

The rest happen with gameplay.

Arkadian Warriors

Gold Miser-Accumulate 500000 Gold-25G

Team Work-Complete 2 quests in one continuous co-op session-10G

Geared Up-Equip a full suit of armor: Helmet, Armor and Weapon-5G

Dungeon Delver-Destroy all monsters in a dungeon level-5G

Morph to Kill-Defeat 10 monsters while in Alter Ego form-5G

New Arcade game! w00t! This is a fun little game if you are into dungeon crawling, looting, and leveling up a character. It's top down visual style is annoying to me, but some may like it.

I have to thank my fellow cheevin' buddy Mike53414 for hooking me up with 500,000 gold for the Gold Miser cheevo and for breakin' it down old school to get the Team Work cheevo.

It's a fun little game, that happened to be on sale. Good times.

Fable II

The Executioner-Are achievements really worth the lives of so many innocents? Probably-10G

The Gambler-A Hero won 500 gold at a tavern game in one sitting. Time for more gambling!-10G

The Property Magnate-A property was sold for twice its original value. Now that's good business-10G

The Hoarder-You, or a friend, found every single silver key in Albion. Some would call you obsessive. Not us-25G

The Completionist-You, or a friend, have gathered every expression, pet trick and ability available. Such dedication-50G

w00t!!!!! Oh my damn! 1000 cheevo points! Full completion! I'd like to give a shout out and thanks to slappypyne for hooking me up with The Completionist and The Hoarder cheevos. He's a cool guy, and I might add, extends the offer to any who ask... ask politely of course.

The Property Magnate is an easy one to get. Buy the cheapest house you can find, and put the nicest stuff in the house. Buy all luxury items from the furniture store. Once you've replaced all the items in the home, sell it. You'll get the cheevo in no time.

The Gambler requires you to WIN 500 gold in one sitting. However, you must have played ALL THREE game types prior to this. So, give them all a go then play the one you are best at. My cheevo didn't unlock until after I cashed out and quit the card game, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't unlock right away.

Left 4 Dead

Ground Cover-Save another Survivor from a Special Infected while on the ground-30G

Grim Reaper-Survive the Blood Harvest campaign-15G

Field Medic-Heal 25 Survivors with a first aid kit-20G

Helping Hand-Revive 50 incapacitated Survivors-20G

Clean Kill-Shove a Boomer and then kill him without him splashing on anyone-10G

Dead Baron-Survive the Dead Air campaign-15G

Pharm-assist-Give pain pills to 10 Survivors-20G

Witch Hunter-Kill a Witch without any Survivor taking damage from her-20G

Double Jump-Pounce two different Survivors in one life as a Hunter-20G

Toll Collector-Survive the Death Toll campaign-15G

Stand Tall-Survive a campaign without being incapacitated-20G

Do Not Disturb-Sneak past all Witches in a campaign without disturbing one-20G

Chain Smoker-Constrict two Survivors in one life as a Smoker-20G

Burn the Witch-Light a Witch with a Molotov-10G

Spinal Tap-Kill an Infected with a single blow from behind-10G

101 Cremations-Set 101 Infected on fire-20G

Jump Shot-Headshot a Hunter while he's leaping-20G

Dead Giveaway-Heal a fellow Survivor when your own health is below 10-10G

Hero Closet-Rescue a Survivor trapped in a closet-10G

Back 2 Help-Leave a safe room to save an incapped teammate and bring them back safely-20g

Hunter Punter-Shove a Hunter off of a pinned and helpless Survivor-10G

My Bodyguard-Protect any Survivor from an attacking Infected 50 times-15G

Towering Inferno-Light a Tank with a Molotov-10G

No Smoking Section-Kill 10 Smokers as they are pulling helpless Survivors-15G

What can I say about this game? I love it. Killing zombies is something every red-blooded American enjoys.

Burn The Witch and Towering Inferno, while both are almost assured suicide to attempt, it's a lot of fun. Just get out a molotov cocktail, and toss it on either the Witch or the Tank and you'll unlock these cheevos (and a sound beating).

Witch Hunter, Jump Shot, and Ground Cover are more luck and opportunity than anything else.

When attempting Clean Kill, make sure you melee the boomer and move far back enough so that he doesn't explode on you or your team when you shoot him.

I would also like to note that I'm currently trying to get the Cr0wned cheevo, and I've been getting my ass handed to me like nobody's business. I'll keep trying, you'll see... I'll do it!

Far Cry 2

Out of the frying pan...-Got rescued by a Buddy-20G

Making friends-Saved a Buddy from captivity-10G

On the run-Escaped the Town-10G

I've only touched on this game. I haven't given this game a fair shake, but that being said... the story is crap. I understand it's a video game, but I don't get how a person that just kidnapped you and threatened your life would hand you a gun and some grenades and tell you to get to work.

Example:

Villan: "You cost me a lot of money... you killed a lot of my men... You are lucky you aren't dead yet! Here, take this fully automatic AK-47 and these live fragmentation grenades. You work for me now! Let me just turn my back on you, so that I might elaborate on the dangerous job I'm forcing you to do!"

Your character, "Yes massah!".

NO. It doesn't work that way! Pssh, whatever. Like I said, I haven't given the game much time, and I'm not sure how much I want to play it. The controls are crap and so is the AI. Anyway, just play the game for a while and you'll get these three... hell, I should get the full 1000 for even screwing with this game.

Dorito's Dash Of Destruction

Easy 200 cheevo points and it's a FREE game! Click here for the recap and the details!

That's it folks. I'm trying to get caught up on all the sweet ass cheev- news! Have a Happy New Year, with many cheevos to come.
